Acupuncture is a medical system used in traditional Asian cultures for over thousands of years. This system focuses on treating the root cause of the problem to help restore the imbalance(s) of the body. By inserting sterile, fine, filiform needles along specific energetic pathways referred to as meridians the body can facilitate change.
The core philosophy is that within the meridians, if the vital Qi or life force energy becomes stagnant in one part of the body it can restrict the flow on other parts of the body as well. This can lead the body to experience an imbalance of signs and symptoms or health concerns. With the stimulation of acupuncture points it can improve the dysfunction in the meridians. Modern science and research shows that acupuncture results in the body producing its own natural chemicals involved in pain relief and the reduction of inflammation as well as balancing hormones, releasing neurotransmitters that create a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
After a thorough consultation, a treatment plan will be created and customized for patients based on their health history and current symptoms. Acupuncture is known to help treat many acute and chronic conditions such as insomnia, digestive, reproductive health, respiratory issues, tension headaches, migraines, low back pain, knee pain, body pain, autoimmune conditions, psycho-emotional issues and much more.
Cupping is used in traditional Asian medicine as a way to promote better blood circulation into the body. This technique uses suction cups to create a vacuum to lift up the fascia and help excrete toxins out to promote healthy healing. It may leave marks on the skin, which is a huge indicator of how stagnant the blood is flowing throughout the body. Cupping helps break up obstructions and stimulate blood flow to the areas of imbalance. It’s many reasons for the usage of such modality is to help those who experience pain, inflammation, stress, anxiety, respiratory issues. Cupping can also help drain lymph and release myofascial tension.
Gua sha is a traditional Asian medicine technique used with a massage tool to help promote and stimulate circulation of the soft tissue on the skin. This tool is used to rub on the skin’s surface and act as a scraping device to promote an increase of blood flow onto the body. Anyone who suffers from pain, this technique can help reduce inflammation and support healing. Commonly areas of use are on a person’s back, neck, arms and legs. A gentle version of this technique is also used on the face during Acu-facial treatments.
Moxibustion is a process in traditional Asian medicine that uses an herb called mugwort or wormwood. This herb is made up of leaves that are formed into sticks or cones, which is burned on an acupuncture point or over the entire body to release vital Qi or as most may refer to life force energy. Moxa’s warming properties allows for the blood to warm and increase in flow. By promoting an increase in blood flow, this will increase oxygenation to the tissues, muscles and tendons that are sore. Studies have shown that moxibustion may help strengthen the immune system by increasing the white blood cell count in the body, which is a major component involved in immunity. It’s warming properties makes it a great choice for those who may suffer from autoimmune diseases, blood conditions such as menstrual cramping, digestive issues, aches and pains such as arthritis, inflammation and much more.
Facial Acupuncture is an extension of acupuncture used in traditional Asian medicine. It is commonly known to help underlying issues that appear on the face such as puffiness, wrinkles, acne, sagging jowls, bells palsy, trigeminal neuralgia, temporomandibular joint and much more. Facial acupuncture treatments work internally to optimize health while enhancing the appearance of the skin. Fine facial needles are inserted in the face, creating a painless micro-trauma to the tissue which enables the brain to stimulate production of the proteins: collagen and elastin. This process will increase blood flow on the skin enabling for a better appearance of sculpted facial muscles, tightening of the skin and softening reduced wrinkle lines. This treatment will give you a radiant glow that will make you feel divine.
Micro and Nano Needling are now within our scope of practice and is the modern version of facial acupuncture. These modalities are more of a cosmetic procedure that works synergistically on the skin, stimulating faster production of anti-aging proteins: collagen and elastin. The procedure includes using a pen-like tool which is moved across the face so that new skin will be rejuvenated evenly and much faster.
The main difference between micro and nano needling is the depth the pen penetrates into the skin. Nano needing punctures the first layer of the skin known as the epidermis, while micro needling penetrates a deeper level of the skin known as the dermis. This process will also include special traditional herbal serums to increase better appearance of sculpted facial muscles, tightening of the skin, and softening reduced wrinkle lines. This treatment will generate faster anti-aging results.
Chinese Herbal Medicine, is an essential medical system used in traditional Asian cultures for over several thousands of years. This medicine in combination with acupuncture focuses on regulating and harmonizing the imbalances of the body. The Chinese herbal formulas along with vitamins, supplements and dietary lifestyle practices may be recommended and prescribed after a thorough consultation. This focuses on addressing the root cause of the problem to help restore the imbalance(s) of the body. A treatment plan will be created and customized for each patient based on their health history and current symptoms. Prescriptions are filled at FDA approved herbal dispensaries based in the U.S. and shipped directly to patient.
Esoteric Acupuncture is a modern system created by Dr. Mikio Sankey. It’s a more focused approach on healing the heart and raising one’s level of consciousness. It is its own separate system apart from the traditional Asian medicine. It encompasses the ability to work beyond the physical level to heal at the soul level. The insertion of these acupuncture needles will activate the Vital Qi or life force energy to not only work at the dense physical body but also at the etheric body, astral body and mental body levels. The sequence of each pattern is important in order to activate the needles on the acupuncture sites of the body to open a portal that unlocks your unconscious mind. If you are drawn to this kind of treatment it may be because your soul is ready to work on the inner workings of the self, expand, harmonize and balance the frequencies of the finer body systems.
Reiki is an ancient healing modality that originated in Japan for many thousands of years and continues to be practiced in many cultures today. It is often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient's body to facilitate the patient's process of healing. One of the basic ideas held by those who practice Reiki is that this vital Qi or life force energy can be channeled to support the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki has been known to promote relaxation, reduces stress response, anxiety and help alleviate pain in people with acute or chronic illness. Reiki treatments are customized to each patient’s needs and may add additional modalities such sound healing, crystals and essential aromatherapy oils. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing that everyone can use. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic Asian medicine techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
